  18. 1/2 tsp. Lemon juice

Instructions to make to make Khatti Dal with Steam Rice

  1. Wash and soak pigeon pea dal for 1/2hr. And transfer in a cooker. Add chopped tomatoes turmeric powder salt green chilli. Stir and close the lid. And make 1-2whistle and cook on a slow flame. Cook for 10-15min. Turn off flame and allow it to coo. Completely.
  2. Now blend dal with blender. Till it smooth. Add water to adjust consistancy.Add tamrind pulp chopped coriander.Stir and cook on slow flame..
  3. For Tadka:- Heat ghee in a pan add onion slices saute till it brown in colour. Add mustard seeds cumin seeds Curry patta garlic cloves red chilli powder salt saute and Immidiately pour on dal and cover the lid on a vessel.Lastly Stir and cook for 5-7min. Khatti dal is ready.Dal consistancy is semi solid. Not so runny or thick.
  4. Now wash and soak rice for 20min and steam add ghee lemon juice and salt.Stir and cook and strain in a strainer. Tasty healthy Khatti Dal with Steam Rice is ready to serve. Garnish with Curry leaves.
